Wow was watching Guiding LIght Hey om this friggin sucks *sob* Dammit Friends | About Easter... Friday. 3.21.08 12:34 pm OK, did Jesus die on Friday or Thursday? cause technically if he died on Friday then he rose on Monday not Sunday. If he did Rise on Sunday and died on Friday thats 2 days not three, hmm does anyoen know? not me i'll have to look that up somewhere 2 Comments. It was Friday. Friday was the first day, Saturday the second, and Sunday is the third. Technically, if we assume he died at noon on Friday and rose on Sunday at noon, then that is a gap of only 2 days, but it spans parts of three whole calendar days. » ranor on 2008-03-21 12:50:22 Thinking about it some more, I realize: It says he "rose on the third day", not "three days later." Therefore, he died on the first day (Friday), was dead for all of the second (Saturday), and rose on the third day (Sunday). If it said "three days later," then he would have died on Friday, then Saturday would be one day later, Sunday would be two days later, and Monday would be three days later, just like you observed. So it's really just semantics. » ranor on 2008-03-21 03:11:48
